Spiritual Technologies Project.

I am collaborating with fellow artists Ron Ragin and Tamara Roberts on the Spiritual Technologies Project. Our first collective effort is an exploration of metered hymn singing in the American South (A Charge to Keep). Together we’ve traveled to the Gullah Islands off the coast of South Carolina and to Central Georgia to document and record the metered hymn singing practice and observe the way this 400-yr. old tradition survives in the 21st century.

Learn more about this project in my Portfolio and in the Spiritual Technologies Blog.

The first iteration of this project was supported by the Ford Foundation and UC Berkeley’s Music Department.
