Youth Together.

Youth Together is a youth leadership and development organization based in Oakland, CA. The organization wanted to revise its Theory of Change to better reflect the youth and communities in which the organization works. While a consultant at See Change Evaluation I designed a participatory Theory of Change process, in which the organization invited members of the community, staff and youth leaders to engage in an oral history exercise. During the session the group was asked to reflect on their own experiences with the organization and to articulate and visualize the impact of the organization on five systemic levels. Quilted Coop created a graphic image for Youth Together (see below) informed by the oral history exercise. The image was accompanied by a series of short audio/video clips created from the oral history session and the organization’s archive. The clips described the various levels on which the organization creates change.
