The California Endowment.

At the end of 2012 Governor Jerry Brown signed five school discipline reform laws. These laws are largely the result of advocacy conducted by a coalition supported by The California Endowment and the Boys and Men of Color Initiative. The California Endowment contracted with Learning for Action to create a case study that would explain and document the actions and relationships that led to the emergence and eventual passing of the bills. To complement these bills, I was hired to create a series of video vignettes or digital stories. Each story drew upon audio from the case study interviews and still images and video from The California Endowment’s archive, to highlight major turning points in the advocacy and coalition building process.
